Hitching A Ride With Foreigners Everywhere

This exhibition is linked to the theme of the 2024 Venice Biennale, curated by Adriano Pedrosa, "Foreigners Everywhere.": It explores the idea that everyone, regardless of location, is both surrounded by and is intrinsically a foreigner, highlighting the universality of the outsider experience. The exhibition focuses on artists who are immigrants, expatriates, and diasporic individuals, to emphasize diverse perspectives and the shared human condition of being a foreigner.

We madly invite you to celebrate with us the opening of Mad Society's new exhibition at Stichting ZAMEN called “THIS IS THE ONLY THING I GOT LEFT,” a space to share personal stories through clothing items of sentimental value. The collaborative exhibition provides a platform for people who cross paths in their day-to-day lives but don’t often get to hear each other.

People of Amsterdam Noord will bring the clothes they’d never throw away because of the stories and memories around them. Our goal is to create a shared space where diverse backgrounds and life stories intersect, allowing everyone to find connections and experience shared emotions.
