You can sign up via the google form in our bio/website. About a month before each edition we open submissions. We always dedicate an OPEN CALL post to this, so you'll know when it's time. Once the form is closed we no longer accept applications. The form is open for about a week, after which Team Kunstmarkt Noord takes a look at all submissions and curates a selection of artists. You'll be notified a few days later via mail whether you've been selected or not.

We accept submissions of the following artists: painters, digital artists, photographers, illustrators, sculptors, etc. Unfortunately creatives such as fashion/accessoire designers, ceramists who only make utensils (such as cups, plates, etc.), jewelry designers, etc. cannot sign up. We are a market that places 100% of the spotlight on visual artists.

Kunstmarkt Noord takes place quarterly. In our first year we've hosted approximetly one edition per month to gain experience and build our community. Now we focus on larger editions a couple times per year

While curating our selection of artists we look for multiple things.

Dedication: We like to see artists passionate about their art and career, we want to see this reflected in both the work as well as (online) representation of the artist. So in short, an artist who is actively working on their craft as well as visibility.

Variation: We always make sure that we offer a wide range of different art forms and styles.
‍
Inclusivity: We believe it's important to reflect the diversity of the art scene. So we actively make sure that less represented artists such as female artists, artists of color, queer artists and artists with physical or intellectual disabilities also get a place on the art market.

Originality: We look for artists who are developing their own unique style. While we value growth and experimentation, we also look for a clear artistic voice — a consistent thread that runs through the work.

We want to recognize that all pieces come from the same hand, rather than feeling like we’re viewing work by different artists.

Kunstmarkt Noord takes place at a different locations within Amsterdam-Noord.While the venue may change, we maintain ongoing collaborations — such as our recurring partnership with Studio C.
