NO NEED TO CONFESS

Exhibitions

An exhibition situated around the topic of abortion by Aimée Phillips @a.bearded.cleopatra and Nina Linde Läuger @nina__linde. Performances by @perpetual.bel @acrft @clarasaito

'In a multidisciplinary manner we aim to interweave different perspectives (historical, intimate and socio-political) on abortion and confession. In doing so, we hope to offer a platform for practices that expose the taboos relating to abortion. We do this by combining (self)fabricated archival material from different eras that have normalized and lived out misogynistic (political, religious as well as social) structures and rework them.

Kunstmarkt Noord #9

Kunstmarkt Noord

Kunstmarkt Noord proudly invites you to our 1 year anniversary, our biggest and baddest edition so far. For this special edition we’ve curated a two-day indoor affordable art-market showcasing the talent of over 70 creatives at Expocafé ZAMEN in Amsterdam. We encourage you to come and support your favorite local artists!

Building on the success of our past editions, this event promises to be bigger and better than ever before! To create space for even more artists we even teamed up with @xyzstudiosamsterdam on the same floor as ZAMEN. Expect a fresh line up of photographers, illustrators, painters, and ceramists curated by Team Kunstmarkt Noord. You will see some familiar faces, as our community is rooted, but we keep on expanding and will introduce many first time artists at this event.

Hitching A Ride With Foreigners Everywhere

Exhibitions

This exhibition is linked to the theme of the 2024 Venice Biennale, curated by Adriano Pedrosa, "Foreigners Everywhere.": It explores the idea that everyone, regardless of location, is both surrounded by and is intrinsically a foreigner, highlighting the universality of the outsider experience. The exhibition focuses on artists who are immigrants, expatriates, and diasporic individuals, to emphasize diverse perspectives and the shared human condition of being a foreigner.

We have invited the following artists to give their take on this theme: Tutu Guo @tutuguo Yunil Jeon @yunil.jeon Tyler & Sebastian Koudijzer @sebastiankoudijzer Silvana Araoz-Fraser @iamsilvanaaraoz Siroos Bahadory @siroosbahadory Bijan Bahadori Kashkuli The show is on view until the 8th of September Poster by @adfjanski
